Main crane: directly determines the single machine capacity that can install wind turbines. To adapt to the constantly increasing number of wind turbines, the lifting capacity of the main crane on the new generation platform has generally reached 1500 to 3500 tons. For example, the 3500 ton crane of “Zhengli 3500” can lift the weight equivalent to 77 C919 aircraft.
Lifting height: equally crucial, it needs to meet the requirements of high-altitude docking. The lifting height of the new generation platform can generally reach 160 to 180 meters. For example, the main hook of “Zhengli 3500” has a lifting height of 160 meters, and the auxiliary hook has a lifting height of 180 meters, which is equivalent to the height of 50 to 58 floors.
Auxiliary crane: usually equipped with a smaller tonnage auxiliary crane, used to cooperate with the main crane to complete auxiliary lifting operations of blades and other components.
🗜️ Pile legs and lifting system: This is the “stable anchor” that distinguishes self elevating platforms from ordinary ships.
Pile leg: It is a key structure supporting the platform, welded from high-strength special steel. The length is usually between 120 and 136 meters. For example, the 136 meter pile leg of “Zhengli 3500” is the longest among platforms of the same type.
Lifting system: mostly gear rack type, through the cooperation of multiple systems, the platform can be smoothly lifted and lowered on the seabed.
🎯 Positioning system: Ensure that the platform can accurately “stand firm” in the wind and waves.
Power Positioning System (DP): High end platforms are commonly equipped with DP-2 level power positioning systems. It can use thrusters to counteract wind, waves, and currents, and control the platform’s position accuracy at the centimeter level.
Anchor positioning: Some crane ships may use multi-point anchor positioning systems as a supplement or alternative to DP systems.
🔋 Power and propulsion system:
Full electric propulsion: has become a standard configuration for large-scale installation platforms.
