Modern offshore support vessels are highly integrated technology platforms, with core configurations including:
Power and propulsion system: The new generation OSV widely adopts diesel electric hybrid power, which works in conjunction with the battery pack and generator set to achieve energy conservation and emission reduction. Large ships adopt a combination configuration of fully rotating thrusters and lateral thrusters.
Dynamic Positioning System: The Dynamic Positioning System (DP) is the key to maintaining precise positioning of OSVs in harsh sea conditions. The common level is DP-2, and some high-end ships are equipped with DP-3.
Homework deck and lifting equipment: A spacious outdoor deck is standard for OSVs. Marine cranes are the main lifting equipment, and some high-end ships are equipped with Active Wave Compensation (AHC) cranes. Some MPSVs also have Moon pools to support underwater operations.
Personnel living and living facilities: Modern OSVs have high standard living areas that can accommodate tens to hundreds of people.
