Cargo hold system: made of duplex stainless steel material
The cargo hold material is the most essential feature that distinguishes stainless steel chemical tankers from other chemical tankers.
Material selection: The cargo tanks are widely constructed using duplex SS 2205/S32205 stainless steel. The surface of the cargo hold and the piping, pumps, valves, etc. in contact with the cargo are all made of stainless steel. Some ship types use SUS 304 stainless steel for their liquid cargo systems.
Corrosion resistance advantage: Dual phase stainless steel has excellent corrosion resistance and can carry various high value-added and highly corrosive chemicals, such as sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid and other strong acid goods. At the same time, the stainless steel cargo hold has a fast cleaning speed and can be quickly switched between different cargoes, significantly improving the operational efficiency of the ship.
Cabin layout: The cargo hold is usually divided into 12 independent cargo holds. Some ship types use slot shaped bulkheads for their cargo holds.
Loading and unloading system: Each cargo tank is equipped with an independent electric deep well pump, which can achieve single compartment, single pump, and single header operation. All liquid cargo pipelines, valves, and pumps are made of stainless steel materials.
⚙️ Power and propulsion system
Propulsion method: The mainstream configuration is single engine single propeller propulsion. Some designs adopt a dual engine dual propeller configuration.
Main engine power: The main engine power range of a 5000 ton ship is approximately 2206 kW to 3100 kW.
Design speed: The design speed is about 12 knots.
Generator: Equipped with 3 main generators (each approximately 225 kW) and 1 emergency generator (approximately 64 kW).
🚢 Cargo oil and loading and unloading system
Cargo oil pump: equipped with 12 electric deep well cargo oil pumps, with a single pump capacity of approximately 150 m ³/h @ 9 bar.
Pipeline system: The diameter of the cargo oil pipeline is 8-10 inches.
Cabin capacity configuration: approximately 250 m ³ for fuel tanks and approximately 100 m ³ for fresh water tanks.
Cabin cleaning system: equipped with Butterworth cabin cleaning system.
Inert gas/nitrogen system: Some ship types are equipped with nitrogen blowing and covering facilities.
🏗️ Deck and main equipment
Mooring equipment: equipped with 2 anchor/mooring winches and 2 tail mooring winches.
Mooring equipment: 2 sets of 2460 kg rodless anchors.
Crane: Each side is equipped with one set of hose crane.
Living area: Tail deck room, capable of accommodating 20 people.
Cargo hold hatch covers: 12 hatch covers with a diameter of 1000 mm.
🛡️ Fire and safety system
Fixed fire extinguishing system: equipped with CO ₂ fixed fire extinguishing system.
Deck foam system: equipped with cargo deck foam fire extinguishing system.
Fire pump: horizontal self-priming, with a capacity of approximately 90 m ³/h and a head of 50 m.
Oil water separator: IMO approved 15 ppm two-stage oil water separator.
